BABYSITTING AVAILABILITY - Wednesday - Friday from 6.30pm.
My name is Sarah I'm 36 and live in Shepley. If you want your children to feel settled and happy once you have left, you have found your person!! A few words to describe myself would be - determined, ambitious, passionate, happy, outgoing, trustworthy, honest, and a hard working individual.
I have worked as a Nursery Nurse for over 16 years providing children with stimulating activities. I feel privileged having the opportunity to watch the children I have looked after grow and develop into confident young children.
Throughout my journey I have gained experience in working with a wide age group of children aged from 0-5. When I'm looking after children I love been creative and like being involved in messy play, so much learning can take place! I particular enjoy taking children on fun outings!! Knowing you have played a part in children's learning is fulfilling! I strive to succeed and do try to do my best in anything that I do.
My passion for children encouraged me to further my skills and expertise therefore, completed a BA (Hons) Early Years where I gained a 2:1. Throughout both degrees my knowledge and understanding of children has flourished and feel this has allowed me to carry out my job role more effectively.
Children's interests are central to their learning, therefore I usually ask parents to give detail of their child's interests, likes and dislikes, comforts and their routine upon a meeting. This ensures the child feels settled once left in their own home following their usual routine and engaging children in particular activities which they enjoy.
During 2015 I volunteered in a Primary School, as well as supplying as a TA in a range of schools through agencies.
In Sept 2015 I became a Learning Support Assistant at a Primary School where I support and provide Interventions, 1-1 and Prevision Teach to Year 6..
In Aug 2016 I became a Deputy Manager at a Nursery where I oversea the running of the nursery as well as running a range of initiatives. Furthermore, support staff and children’s developmental needs. My role also includes a lot of admin work..
I begin a new adventure as an Assistant Manager Nov 2017 at a nursery much closer to home, however, I have returned back into a nursery room because this is where my passion lies, with the children. Although, I have enjoyed learning and develop new skills as a deputy the paper work took you away from the children which I missed. Experience of working 1-1 with two children who have specific educational needs which was extremely rewarding.
Currently working in a Private School as of 2020.
From Feb 2018 until Aug 2018 I looked after a three year old every Friday. Together we went exploring and out for lots of fun visits including Bretten Park, Cannon Hall, Charlottes Ice Cream Parla, Green Head Park, Castle Hill, Kirklees Rail Way, as well as Lots of parks & playing in the paddling pool in Summer.
Currently, Babysitting on an evening and Nannying on an adhoc basis at the weekends during afternoons.
My Experience
In 2005, I worked in Spain as an Au Pair where I looked after three children whilst their parents worked. In 2006, I worked as a Nanny in Spain and looked after a baby throughout the day/ evening. When training to become a Nursery Nurse I gained experience in a school reception for a year and in a range of nurseries and pre-schools. Growing up I have always helped out in looking after other family members children.
In 2009, I became part of a Nanny company; this involved providing care for four children in the lakes in 2012. I looked after four children in the lakes for three days whilst their mum and dad got married, which was a lovely experience. I provide wedding day / evening care and have
plenty of experience in this area.
I currently babysit / nanny for a range of parents, during the / week days / weekends adhoc.
In 2007, I became a nursery nurse, I stayed in my first job as a nursery nurse for three and a half years. In 2010, I moved to a different nursery for a new challenge and to gain more experience.
However, in Aug 2014 I left to complete my BA (Hons) Degree in Early Years; becoming a Support & Learning Assistant in Nov 2015.
I have the ability and confidence to build strong relationships with both children and parents, which is crucial to make yourself and your little bundles of joy feel at ease.
On a daily basis when I was a nursery nurse, I provided activities for children involving their particular interests in order to progress, enhance and achieve within the 6 areas of learning included in the EYFS. I love the smiles on children's face when they learn something new that I have played a part in! The light bulb moment is incredible...

Sarah is an excellent babysitter, reliable and very experienced. My 11 month old son loves spending time with her evident by his smiles when she is around! Very reassuring for me as I had not left my son with anyone but family before. Cannot praise her enough.
