Hello,
My name is Michelle Carter, I am an OFSTED registered childminder and obtained a "Good" at my last inspection. I have been a childminder for the last 26 years and am located on Pewsham in Chippenham.I have been married to Ian for 36 years and we have two grown up daughters who live away . I believe in learning through play in a safe home environment. As a mother myself I fully understand how difficult it can be to leave your child in someone else's care, so I ensure that each child is treated as an individual and care for them as I would my own.
I offer a large range of activities to keep all the children stimulated and happy, some examples include.
Day trips, toddler sessions,soft play, craft activities, cooking,gardening, seasonal themed activities,
Outside play is positively encouraged within my own garden with sand/water play, messy play , Ride on toys etc.
I am a regular visitor to local parks and other community activities.
I will work closely with you keeping you up to date with your child's activities on a daily basis both verbally and via the "Daily diary" . Your child will also have a learning journal for the duration of their time with me and regular development checks to keep you informed on how they are progressing.
My aim is to ensure your child is happy and secure and reaches their full potential in my setting whilst ensuring you fell happy leaving your child with me.
My Experience
I have been a childcare professional for the past 37 years , as a child minder and as a NNEB qualified Nanny. I believe in children learning through play in a safe family environment. I have a wealth of experience in childcare .
My Qualifications
Qualified nursery nurse for 30+years, I hold a NVQ LEVEL 3 In childcare and development. And Hold an AO level in child psychology. I am also a qualified paediatric first aider. Have a food hygiene certificate. And I keep up to date with required training.

Our son is nearly 2 and has been with Michelle since March this year and we could not have made a better choice. He was originally in nursery and even though that was good, it cost a fortune so we started to look at childminders. We question why we never did this before. Michelle is able to give support and our son has learnt so much since being with Michelle, his speech is clearer, he will listen to instructions, loves to play with other children and has learnt to share as well as other milestones. You are given a journal which tells us about their day, and from the looks of it, they are mostly out and about or crafting. Recently making a scarecrow as part of pewshams scarecrow trail with the older people in a care home that they visit regularly. We pay extra for our son to have a cooked meal which is a proper home cooked meal.
Michelle is a wonderful childminder, she is very easy going, approachable and friendly with a lot of patience. Whenever we pick our son up there is always lots of smiles, sometimes have to persuade our son to leave and he is very excited in the mornings to go. We would highly recommend her!!

My son has been with Michelle for the past year and has loved his time spent with her. He was and still is very much a mummies boy but can’t wait to spend time with Michelle during the week! They have a fantastic time together he has settled in extremely well and has come on so much in so little time.
The whole family are warm & welcoming and are like a second family to my little one!
