About Me
I Have been a registered childminder for the past 30yrs . I have four children of my own aged 35,33,29,16 and a 3yr old Grandson , My eldest three children don’t live at home , my daughter who has also just left home , is a Paediatric nurse and works at the Royal Marsdon children's hospital on the childhood cancer unit ,so she is keen to be involved with the children in my care , my next one is a builder my youngest attends Varndean College .My house is very busy and lively we also have a dog and Tortoise.
I enjoy my job and treat all the children in my care as i would my own . I go out a lot visiting brighton beach the local leisure centre and various mother and toddler groups. In the school holidays we visit local farms and parks
I am a member of the local childminding network I work closely with other minders an we plan days out together which means the children in our care all know each other an enables us to cover for each other's sickness an holidays
I have a playroom where the children can access all the resources themselves , and a garden with various outdoor equipment , we have a Wii an they have there own iPad Each child has a Learning Journal an I record observations mainly through photographic evidence , I constantly review there progress in accordance with the EYFS guidelines an plan activities accordingly , i have a private parents page where i upload photos on a weekly basis of what we have done and where we have been that week , i also hold tea time / play dates at my house where the parents can also get together and meet each other then just drop off on doorsteps !I do a lot of craft activities at home usually following a relevant theme and we make cakes , play doh , gloop etc all activities are enjoyed by all ages . I can do drop offs and pickups from Gattons and Southway as well as local pre-schools.My mum is also registered as my assistant and helps out when i need her she’s very good with the cooking story telling , the children in my Care call her Nanny and look forward to her visits and our days out .
My Experience
Have a lot of experience in the early years catagory having been a childminder for 30yrs and ran my own pre-school for 12 yrs , up until july 2018. The youngest child i have looked after was 3 months old , all of my children i have had from babies right up to school and there after , I attend regular network meetings and keep up to date with all the latest EYFS updates .I have recently registered as a member of the Forest Childcare Association , this means that I am committed to weekly outdoor outings all year round , these consist of trips to beach, parks and local nature reserves . My mum is registered as my assistant and the children love having her around and all call her nanny
My Qualifications
I hold a NVQ Level 3 in childcare and education , Child protection , First Aid , Food Hygiene , and CRB I also attend various other workshops and courses to do with my proffesion . i am also a member of the local childminding network and meet up regulary with other minders, I am accredited which means i can accept the goverment funding for 2 and 3 yr olds.
My Availability
I work as a childminder monday to thursdays and have availability on all days at the present time.I also offer flexible hours and cater for shift workers or just as-hoc days

We adore 'Mandy's house'. Mandy has looked after my son since January 2023 and I'm so glad we found her. Mandy is a lovely person, takes the children on lots of wonderful outings and really cares about them. After an incident at nursery I was nervous about moving my son to a new childcare setting but I really didn't need to be. Mandy made him feel at home very quickly.
She has a lovely home with a playroom and a garden full of toys. She's located quite centrally so easy to get to on route to work. Mandy is also in high demand and I'm not surprised why. Jack is really going to miss her when he goes to school.

Amanda has looked after my 3 children over a few years and I would not have wanted them to be anywhere else. The variety of activities and places she would take them was amazing and her home was always so welcoming and a fun safe place for the children to be. She is such a warm and caring person and I know if the children were upset at any time that she would cuddle them and comfort them and they would soon be ok. My children learnt so many early life skills and experiences while being looked after by Amanda and I will be forever grateful for all that she did for us. My children really missed her once they went onto school and we have always stayed in contact. I would highly recommend her as an excellent childminder.

Manda has looked after my two children since they were 9 months old. She treats them like her own and they can't wait to go in her house. If they fall over or hurt themselves I know she will give them a cuddle, if they are nervous I know she will reassure them, if they miss me I know she plays and makes them laugh....all the worries of leaving my children with someone just go away when Manda has them. I trust her 100%, as do my children. You can always get hold of her if you need to, she always updates you on the things they have done during the day and makes each day varied and fun.
She's a caring mum herself and i wouldnt send them anywhere else, it's home from home for my kids.

Mandy has looked after both my daughter and my son. I cannot thank her enough for all that she has done. She has been the most wonderful childminder I could have wished for. Her patience and dedication to my children has been second to none.
Every day there is an activity planned from going to the beach, a soft play, a playgroup, a farm and the list goes on. I would always get regular updates as to what they were doing and my daughter would always be so excited to tell me what she had done. Mandy also did so many crafts with them, so much more than I would ever do at home! They were always coming back wit drawings, things that they have made, cakes etc.
In the holidays Mandy would take them out every day, they have visited most places in Sussex!!
My children looked to Mandy as a second mum and the relationship they built together was just amazing. She offered them the love and guidance that they needed and I will be forever grateful. They have made lifelong friends and we are now lucky enough to have an extended family with Mandy’s family.

I have used this childminder for over the last 10 years, she has cared for all three of my children from the age of 7 months. My children are now 10, 7 and 4 and still get collected from school once a week as they were upset not to be going to her anymore when I changed my working hours.
She has always been very caring and warm towards my children, however she will also correct them if they are doing wrong which I have been more than happy with. They have always done a wide range of activities, from toddler groups, soft play, parks and beaches, walking the dog, and a massive range of activities at her home, both inside and out. They have always mixed with other children of similar ages which I believe has played an extremely large part in helping develop their social and interaction skills with their peers. They have always been ‘out and about’ which has given my children a great deal of fun and a vast range of different life experiences
She has a very welcoming home and a wide range of toys, activities and games for the children – both inside and out, as well as a few family pets which my children have always loved to be around, not having any pets of their own.
I would strongly recommend her to other parents looking for childcare. She is very patient, kind, warm and caring towards the children, teaches them right from wrong, gives them lots of different experiences with the groups she visits and outings she takes the children on, as well as having time at home doing different craft activities, gardening and generally just playing! She is very approachable, and easy to talk to, she supports parents during times such as potty training, weaning, offers advice if asked eg. sleep problems with you child etc. She has 4 children of her own and therefore has lots of experience in raising children, she has always given me lots of very helpful, useful advice and support when asked with regards to my own children.
I would not hesitate to send a child to her for childcare and I personally feel that my children have had proper ‘life’ experiences on a day to day basis as opposed to being in the same nursery environment day after day.
