About Me

In my working life I am a Nanny and I have been since 2013; with my childcare career beginning as a Nursery Nurse. Being around children brings me such joy and I feel so privileged to have met and been a part of the nanny families I have already had the pleasure of being with. Being able to have an input into raising children to become happy, carefree and healthy young people is a passion of mine.

I am a very caring individual who is keen to bring some good to the world. As well as my nannying career, I have completed a 2-year Level 4 Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling. I have found this to be an incredibly rewarding course and it has added to my ability to understand myself and others on a much deeper level. I have found this training has also had a positive impact in my nannying life as I have learnt a new level of patience and understanding of truly listening to others.

I am open and trustworthy and I have been raised to be well mannered and respectful to all. I am highly organised, excellent at multi-tasking and work well under pressure.

My Experience

Full-time Nanny – Hardmead
July- Jan 31st 25

This has been one of my most enjoyable families to work for. I have been made to instantly feel a part of the family and the children welcomed me in instantly. My role involves looking after two little boys of 3 and 5. I begin my day with providing them with a healthy and protein-rich breakfast and ensuring their things are ready for school and nursery. Two days a week I have the youngest child all day. I take him to Nature tots every other week and here he is able to explore and fully immerse himself in nature. We also love to go to the library, make dens, get creative and cook together. When both children are out, I help the mother with keeping the house in order, do food shops and general errands. I am sadly finishing my role with this family due to personal changes in their situation. Though have stressed that they could not be more grateful for the help I do provide them and the bonds I have created with their sons.

Full-time Nanny – Caddington
January 2024 – June

I am currently working full time for a family with two very sweet children ages 3 and 4. My usual day would begin by sorting out a nutritious but filling breakfast, organising their school/nursery bags and ensuring they are ready for their day! On 3 days of the week, I work a split shift when the youngest will be at nursery. On the other two days I will have him all day and we will have a wonderful day filled with exploring woods, farms, the zoo and educational museums. In the evening’s I love to experiment with new foods for them at dinner time and encourage them to be brave with new flavours and textures. I decided to leave this role as it was a fair distance to travel, and with this being a split shift role, I felt I had too much free time on my hands as I much prefer to be busy.

Full time Nanny/Housekeeper - Harpenden - Nov 21 - Dec 23

I am currently nannying two boys aged 7 and 10 and I care for them for a couple of hours before and after school. Taking them to and from clubs, and providing healthy freshly cooked meals. As well as this I organise all doctors, dentist and healthcare appointments and keep up with all school admin. I have build a strong relationship with these boys and we have a lot of fun together kicking a ball around and playing a variety of games. Whilst they are at school, I keep on top of the laundry, ironing and general cleaning and upkeep of the whole house.

Volunteer trainee Counsellor at Sorted, Dunstable
March 21 – April 22

I have already grown so much as a person being here and I am made to feel so welcome and respected by the other volunteers and staff. They are an that provides free counselling sessions to young adults and children aged between 10 – 25 and I have currently had 3 clients aged between 16-19 years. I absolutely love counselling and providing a service to these young people that I hope will allow them to have a more independent, happier and manageable life.

Volunteer trainee Counsellor at The Priory School, Hitchin
Oct 19 – March 20

This was my first experience of counselling and the ages of my clients ranged from 13 years to 16. Although being quite nervous at the beginning, I found my stride and found the experience really benefitting. I gained the trust of my clients and build a strong rapport with each of them. Sadly, this placement came to an abrupt finish because of the pandemic.

Part-time Private Nanny – Harpenden
December 2019 – September 2021

This role was caring for two wonderful little girls. My day started by assisting them in getting ready for school and nursery and then whilst they were out, helping to organise the family home and prepare meals. The girls certainly kept me on my toes and we had a lot of fun together making dens, creating new art projects, going for walks and exploring all things nature. I have built a wonderful relationship with the parents too and I feel very much a part of their family. The role came to an end as my hours were being reduced due to youngest starting school, and this is no longer suitable for me financially.

Part-time Private Nanny – Hitchin
August 2019 – December 2019

I wasn’t with this family for very long as it became too costly for the family and as the mother wasn’t enjoying her job role after coming off maternity, it suited the family best for her to care for the children again. Whilst I was there, I cared for 3 very energetic, funny boys aged between 7 years – 8 months. After dropping the eldest two at school, I would have the youngest with me and I would provide stimulating activities for him during the day, to keep his little brain busy by continuously learning new things. I provided the boys meals, help with homework and we visited the park/farm regularly.

Part-time Private Nanny – Harpenden
November 2013 – August 2015, September 2016 – Until September 2019
This was my first nanny role and I have loved my job here since the day I started. I have found it so wonderful and rewarding being a part of this family and helping to raise their three children into free spirited, cheeky and polite young people. My jobs included dropping the eldest two (6 and 8) to school, preparing meals, washing and sorting out the children’s laundry, homework, reading, bathing and putting children to bed. I have experience with potty/toilet training all three. The youngest (3) stayed with me during the day. To provide enrichment and entertainment during the day we went to the zoo, farms, parks/woodland walks and activity centres, as well as her weekly dance and gymnastic classes. As she was starting school and their mother was leaving work, my services were no longer required. However, I do still keep in contact with this family and we remain close, I also babysit when needed.

Part-time Private Nanny – St Albans
March 2016 – Until September 2019
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with this family and as their children are older (13, 10 and 7), it has been a refreshingly new kind of role for me. I have been able to gain more experience with supporting these children through challenges at school and friends and just generally being there if they need a chat! My roles with this job were picking the youngest up from school and taking him to his swimming lesson, guiding him through his homework, providing play dates, picking second child up from school and preparing meals. Occasionally light house work when needed too. This role came to an end as I wished to find a family with younger children to care for and longer hours.

Harpenden Day Nursery, Nursery Nurse (Bank Staff) – Harpenden
Jan 2018 – September 2019
My role here was based over the nurseries lunch time period on a Monday and Tuesday. I helped my team to provide stimulating activities, prepare snack, over-see lunch time and any general support where needed. I left here as I didn’t enjoy being Bank Staff and I needed to focus my attention on course work for my Counselling Studies.

Little Stars Nursery, Harpenden – Nursery Nurse (Full time and Bank)
April 2012 – December 2017
From college this was my first job and I will always have a soft spot for this place. I flourished as a person here and my team around me allowed my confidence to grow. At nursery a daily routine would be providing exciting and encouraging activities for the children, serving the children lunch, changing nappies/supporting toilet training, reading and often helping with creating display boards. Also, whilst working here I regularly helped with feedback to parents and had 6 monthly meetings with the parents of my key children. I worked here full time for 2 years before being scouted by a family to nanny their children. From then I became a Bank staff member and worked here on a part time basis, but remained a close part of the nursery family. However, in December 2017 the nursery was unfortunately shut down due to lack of funding and I relocated to Harpenden Day Nursery under the same company.

Woodend Primary School, Harpenden – Work Experience
4 weeks in 2011
Whilst working here for part of my college work experience, my role included supervising Year 1 children, hearing them read, supporting with group activities and on occasions was given the extra responsibility of taking the register and story time. During my time at the school, I was able to extend my experience of 5–6-year-olds and my knowledge about their learning styles and needs.

Skylarks Day Care, Harpenden – Work Experience
4 Weeks in 2011
My time in Skylarks was my first work experience for college. After my placement my supervisor approached me and asked whether I would be interested in working over the Easter and Summer holidays. I was thrilled at this opportunity and worked there for an additional period of 4 weeks. I thoroughly enjoyed the chance to gain the extra experience with the nursery and infant children and to be able to see how the holiday clubs were run. From this experience I gained a sound knowledge of the numeracy and literacy skills that the children were achieving and how to encourage this through activities. I also realised that this was the age group which I thrived in the most.
