About Me
I am a registered childminder with Ofsted and a member of the National Childminding Association.I have been working with children for 28 years,inc NSPCC and a nursery setting untill 19years ago when i started childminding from home. I have 3 children,all have left home. we offer home from home environment, with a varied daily range of activities.
My Experience
28 years working with children from ages 6mths up to 12 years of age.5 yrs working with the NSPCC involving.working with children with disabilities plus respite care. and 5 yrs working in a nursery setting with babies and toddlers.19yrs working for myself with children ages from 6mths to teenage years. We enjoy indoor and outdoor activities with a large enclosed garden.
My Qualifications
First Aid. Basic Food Hygene. Child Protection. Take 10 for play. Early Years Foundation Stage courses. ICP - Introduction to childminding practice course. NSPCC - training.safeguarding, plus upto date relevant training.

Working hours 7.30am till 17.30.Mon-Thur. Friday 07.30-13.00 early years spaces available now. please phone for information,Monday - Friday

Karen has been looking after both of my little boys for just coming up to a year now . My youngest from around 9 months and the oldest from nearly 2 . She has been extremely accommodating to all our needs and made the transition for me from maternity leave back to work a lot easier knowing that my children are being well looked after . Our eldest needs abit more extra support and Karen has been more than happy to learn and support him throughout the day when he’s there . I can’t fault Karen in anyway where looking after our children is concerned she’s excellent and both my children love going to see her!

My son has been with Karen since September originally doing 1 day a week and moving upwards to 3.
Karen has been flexible with what I need allowing me to change my timings month by month based on my husband's work. She is also good at communicating how my son had been.
Karen does crafts with the children and it's lovely to see what things my son produces.
It took a while for my son to be ok being without me but Karen was patient and willing to try different techniques to put him at ease.
Karen has been a great childminder for my son and the only reason we are leaving is due to a relocation

My son was with Karen for 3 years from 6 months and I couldn’t of asked for a better childminder…my son loved going to Karen’s she made it a home from home place what I wanted as my son was only 6 months.
Karen is a kind,caring,loving and understandable person and is willing to help you out in any way possible.Her energy,love and passion with the kids as a childminder is everything you want and need knowing your child is well looked after,enjoying themselves while you are busy at work.Her family are a bonus too so welcoming and friendly.
My son’s learning,confidences,potty training,speech,making friends,manners,numbers,eating just everything came to him like duck in water and I can’t thank Karen enough for being a huge part of our life’s with Harvey’s milestones while with her as my son used to call her home(childminders)his second home.

Karen was very welcoming to my wife and I from day one. Due to a last minute falling through of our original childcare plan, we were very desperate to get our little one year old into nursery as both parents work. Karen was very understanding of our situation and offered us a bespoke short term contract (around 4 weeks) to hold on to Mesi before a spot was to free up for her at nursery. Mesi has been taken care of well during her time with Karen. Karen had really helped us out when we needed help, and we would both recommend her any time.

Thank you for your review. I was glad to be able to help you out for a short period and I wish Mesi all the best for when she starts a new venture into nursery.
My daughter has been going to Karen since July 22, I was very nervous at first but soon put at ease. My daughter loves going to Karen, she loves learning and being creative. Sometimes it's a struggle to get her to leave! Overall would recommend Karen to anyone who was to ask for a childminder in the area.

Karen has been looking after my daughter since she was 6 months old. Karen made my transition back to work easy as she was so attentive with my little girl. Making sure she had her home comforts and keeping to routine. Every day my daughter is so happy to go with Karen (she normally screams leaving me) not when she’s with Karen she give me a cuddle and smile and off she goes. Karen has been amazing with her making arts and crafts and singing nursery rhymes that she loves, telling me all about her day. I would recommend Karen to anybody looking for a childminder as she is just fantastic!

Thank you for your lovely review.it is a pleasure having your little girl in my setting.she loves exploring new things and joining in with her little friends.
My little boy has been going to Karen since September, and honestly was the best decision I have ever made!
Karen is so welcoming - keeps you up to date with everyone my little one has been doing throughout the day!
Since my little one has been going there his development has really come along, he loves going there everyday. Always happy and smiling when I pick him up as well!
If you are looking for a childminder I would highly recommend Karen.

A great home from home setting, with all members of the house welcoming our daughter. It is esvident that my Isla loves her time with Karen, as she will often have a meltdown at collection, and proceed to clamber back into the setting, which gives me peace of mind that she is in a great place. Understanding military working life, Karen has been flexible at sometimes very short notice, which has been an absolute godsend.
We only leave due to relocating to a different area, where our little one will move to nursery, which Karen has helped in ensuring Isla is ready for. Many thanks from myself, Ben and Isla :)

I was so anxious leaving my daughter for the first time Karen made the experience so easy and I always knew she was in amazing hands. My daughter gets anxious leaving me to be with other people but was happy and content and Karen’s that she would happily leave me with out waving goodbye. I would recommend her to anyone we were sad to leave and if ever needed child care again she would be my first call. She worked amazingly to help support us around my husband work as well. She came home with crafts she had done and they were ones I could keep forever.

thank you.it was a pleasure having little one here.always so happy playing with her friends and experiencing new things.
Thank you to Karen for providing exceptional care for my son. He had been somewhere previous and just not settled so I was worried the same would happen in Karen’s care, but it was the totally opposite! After 2 weeks he had made some friends, was coming home with things he’d made and was no longer crying on drop off. As a first time parent leaving my son with someone new after a bad experience I felt very anxious and on edge, but Karen made me feel very at ease leaving him in her care. Having a partner who’s deployment is all over the place, Karen has been very accommodating when it’s come to helping me with the few extra hours here and there and is always willing to help when she is able to do so. Due to moving out of the area I am unfortunately having to take him out of her care and we as a family are devastated. I can’t recommend Karen enough and thank her for everything she’s done for us!
