Just the best nanny we found on here. Able to cope with 5 young children straight away and help us to develop boundaries and a routine and have fun at the same time!!

Thank you very much for this review Andrew... it has been an interesting journey and sometimes challenging to gently guide the children towards the right road over the last 18 months since we first met. I will never forget that first day - 5 children aged 2 - 7 and I was doing my best to remember their names and ages!
We have come so far since then... ( as you know, the children didn't like me much in the beginning!) with gentle discipline coming from a place of care and kindness the children's manners are now amazing and they have learned patience and consideration for others around them too.
Now they know my boundaries too and finally have stopped pushing them so feel safe, secure and confident that I say things for their best interest therefore allowing the fun factor to be there too.
Of course it is important that the boundaries are the same whoever's care they are in so thank you for following my advice on several levels over the time we have worked as a team so that they don't play one off against the other! That would make life harder for both of us.
I hope to be caring for them in the Summer holidays also as and when time allows.

Babysitting vs Nannying

Thought a babysitting job didn’t need background checks.
Whether it is a day or a month or a year. I expect a nanny, babysitter or childminder to want to have more care as I was trusting an individual with my child but you thought you didn’t have to show that.
Very unprofessional tone, wouldn’t recommend.

In response to this very unfair review ( even though this parent closed their account immediately after writing this) I had explained that there was a possibility that my passport would arrive and I would be unable to do this small babysitting job which in fact is exactly what happened! I had also explained that I was in the middle of updating my DBS check. I offered to meet this mother for a coffee with the child also to see if we liked each other but she didn't want to do that. I was doing other childcare jobs also at the time as well as caring for my elderly mother for many hours so I had explained that I had limited time to complete paperwork in the next couple of days before the date she needed help. Actually I was doing my best to help this person out as nobody seemed to want to do this job.

Thank You Sandra! Great Job

Sandra helped my family out massively during the summer - child-minders were back at work but schools were still out and she took great care of our 10 year old daughter during the "summer term". It meant my wife and I could get back to work and our daughter had 2 days with someone other than mum & dad to talk to. Sandra was interested and interesting, very patient and formed a good bond with our girl. We stay in touch even though the assignment is over and we are very happy to do so! Thanks a million Sandra!

Thank you so much Al for your kind words... I was thrilled when you chose me to keep your daughter company and guide her with her school work, I could not have imagined that I would have grown to love being at your home, feeling so comfortable in such a short space of time! As you say, we bonded very quickly and I could also never have imagined that testing spellings and times tables, or even cooking together could have been such fun! She is truly an adorable child. Tuesdays and Wednesdays became really important to me as we came out of lockdown - I looked forward to working with you all so much. It was an absolute pleasure. You are such a lovely family and I sincerely do hope that we can stay in touch in the future.

A wonderful experience, strongly recommend!

It is my pleasure to recommend Sandra as a childcare provider. She has cared for my two children (aged 7 and 4) since January 2019. During this time, I have come to know Sandra quite well and she has always demonstrated patience and understanding. I trust her with my children completely. Some people just have a way with children and Sandra is definitely one of them!

Sandra has shown herself to be extremely reliable, punctual, experienced, and considerate. Perhaps even more importantly, she is also very thoughtful, kind, and genuinely invested in caring for the children. In her capacity as our nanny, Sandra helped care for the children during after-school hours, providing them with snacks, making dinners, and helping them with their homework, as well as playing all sorts of games and outdoor activities with them. She has shown a strong capacity for structuring time well, but also with flexibility. While our family circumstances changed and we no longer require a nanny, Sandra still babysits for the children on occasion and they are always excited to see her.

Sandra is a very friendly, patient, and trustworthy person. I feel fortunate to have met her and had her care for my children so well. I warmly recommend her to you.

Amazing

Sandra has only worked for us for a short time but that was due to our family circumstances changing.
She spent a lot of time with my boys before starting and got to know them very well. My youngest has autism and he took to her straight away. She is firm but fair and her love for children shines through.
I would highly recommend her and if our circumstances change I wouldn't hesitate to contact her again.
