About Me
Hi my name is Emma Ward, I live in a semi detached house in Langney. I have a son aged 13 and a 9 year old daughter who are at Haven primary school and two friendly hounds Rambo and Harley ! I have an opened planned living room and dining room so plenty of space for the children to play. I also have a garden. I love looking after children and getting out and about with them. I am close to local parks, library and children centers. I also visit soft play like treasure island , I also have membership to paradise park in newhaven and Drusillas. I am a member of childcare.co.uk have I my insurance through them.
My Experience
I am a mother of a boy aged 13 and have a daughter aged 9 years . I have always been around children and looking after them. I have worked voluntary as a class room assistant for over a year in a reception class. My main experience is having my own children. I offer children a clean, safe and loving environment which they can learn and have fun.

I also offer funded places for children , 9 months, 2 years and 3&4 years olds.

Emma looked after my son from Sept 2022 (2years old) through to him starting school in Sept 2024 (4 years old). Emma had my son full time, including during the school holidays. She was incredibly reliable and never had a day sick and gave plenty of notice for holidays. Emma helped me transition my son into her care as we had moved house and it soon became like his second home to be at Emma’s. Previously he had been in a nursery and now he was out exploring and playing at wonderful locations in Eastbourne and surrounding areas. An average week would consist of various play groups, music groups, adventures to the woods, crafts playing, beach and harbour visits, gardening and days out to places like Paradise Park & Middle Farm. This included meeting with other childminders, which I liked because it increased his exposure to larger groups.
The school holidays were always a blast when Emma would make sure the kids had a holiday experience with visits to Drusilla’s, Knockhatch, beach school, allotment club the list goes on. Now that my son is at school, he has been asking if he can go back to Emma’s for the holidays. He regularly asks to see Emma again and we have met up a few times during the holidays on the days out. I will book my son in with Emma again during the school holidays.
In addition to all the fun, Emma helped me with speech therapy for my son as he started to learn how to talk. I had reports and sessions to discuss his development, and Emma helped me to know what I can do as a parent to support him as he developed. I particularly liked that she took him to beach school during the summer and taught the children beach safety, sometimes I would pick him up from there at the end of the day and stay and join in, which just made my heart happy.
I would recommend Emma to look after your child. She will give them structure and adventure and your kids deserve that while they are still young and before they start school. Emma will remain a strong part of my sons life, thankyou Emma being such a great caregiver to my son.

Emma has been minding my 17 months old son for over a month. Emma is a very professional, caring and reliable child-minder. Jai can be quite clingy but he has taken to Emma straightaway and settled in as though he has always been there.
Emma has a lovely, tidy, safe and welcoming home and garden. She has a wonderful son and a friendly, gregarious dog Ruby that Jai adores. There are tons of toys in her home and she always has interesting activities or outings planned.
I can see a big cheesy grin on Jai’s face when we are approaching Emma’s home. This is a very good sign!
Emma is a fantastic child-minder and I am very happy I have found her. She is our first child-minder and I do not think that I will ever want to change her for another one.
