Wiggles and Giggles Childcare LTD is a childcare provision in the Doddington Park / Birchwood area, run by Carol (property resident) and Julie (business partner who lives with her grown up family). We are registered with OFSTED. Both Carol and Julie are highly experienced and qualified Early Years workers. Together, we aim to provide high quality care which is child centred and within a nurturing and stimulating home environment, embracing the diverse needs of the children and their families.
We specialise in caring for babies and toddlers from 9 months to school age.
We have 2 bespoke playrooms plus the use of the lounge, kitchen and garden, providing plenty of space and opportunities for a variety of play activities following the EYFS guidelines, the children's interests and stages of development - construction, singing and dancing, obstacle courses, stories, painting, play dough, junk modelling, messy play like gloop (cornflour & water) and jelly play and cooking which will include children helping to prepare their own meals (age appropriate). We have a spacious garden in which the children can safely play and explore including digging and helping with the vegetable garden; the children love to pick their own strawberries, carrots and peas.
We have varied activities for the children and adapt their ages and stages of development .
We implement a daily programme of learning to support children from about 2 1/2 years to aid their preparation for school. Within this, we have 'finger gym' where the children will use resources like tweezers, nuts and bolts, threading to support their early writing skills.
Hartsholme park is on our doorstep along with a local sure start centre and a library.
Your child's personal, social and emotional development is at the centre of all their learning and development and will be fully promoted at Wiggles and Giggles through taking the time to talk to and listen to the children, provide them with lots of positive encouragement and praise along with celebrating individuality and diversity.
Partnership working is also paramount at Wiggles and Giggles, understanding that each families circumstances and needs are different. Partnership working will be fostered through a flexible service with daily updates on your child's day to support consistency of care along with regular feedback and written reports on your child's progress in their learning and development.
Wiggles and Giggles Childcare is open for full day care only - no school drop off / pick up.
We offer a minimum session of 8 hours per day.
Non smokers
2 cats which are kept in a different part of the house and outdoors. There is some supervised contact with children.
Experience:
We are both highly experienced and qualified with 40 years experience between us (20 years each) through roles such as sole charge nanny (extensive baby / toddler experience), nursery nurse, nursery manager, teaching assistant, Early Years outreach worker, previously registered childminder, childminding co-ordinator, pre-school learning alliance tutor and Early Years trainer/assessor/internal verifier. Previous positions entailed work with babies from newborn to school age children along with working with children with additional needs (Down syndrome and Autism).
Carol has worked on a voluntary basis for Lincoln Women's Aid, implementing play sessions for both mother and child.
Julie has worked on a voluntary basis with Brownies, Guides and Youth centres.

Our fees are £6.20per hour which includes all meals, snacks and outings.
Term time only is available at £6. 75 per hour
Childcare vouchers accepted.
9 month, 2, 3 and 4 year old funding available with options regarding snacks/meals.

Carol and Julie and the other girls are just amazing, my daughter joined when she was 2 and a half and has come on in leaps and bounds they have such a great setting here and Amelia just settled in straight away, she didn’t want to come home most days. I’m so happy I found this nursery and they have been the best thing for me and my daughter and I can’t thank them enough xx

This is an absolutely outstanding childcare setting, providing brilliant care on virtually a one to one basis. My son came on so well having moved to Wiggles & Giggles from a much larger and less personal setting. He is positively thriving here and his learning has come on tenfold. Julie, Carol & the staff care so much about the children, there was not a doubt in my mind that this was the best setting for my child to be and cared for within. I would recommend this nursery to anyone reluctant to leave their child, outgoing or anxious children or anyone seeking the best care for their child.

Our daughter attended wiggles and giggles from being around 10 months old until she was two and a half. Naturally, I had all of the usual parent worries about returning to work after maternity leave and placing my daughter into childcare for four days a week. However, any concerns I had were very quickly forgotten about because she settled in so well right from the beginning and the whole team at Wiggles were so great.
Our daughter absolutely loved going to nursery and it made all that guilt about working and putting her into childcare disappear. She made some lovely friends and developed massively during her time there. Her speech developed very quickly and we had a lot of comments about how well she spoke for her age, and I felt the wiggles team contributed a lot to this. They do so many activities with the children, our daughter was always coming home with different creations and things she’d made whilst at nursery.
Carol and Julie are exceptional and I couldn’t have asked for better people to be looking after our daughter. It really was like they were extended family. They went above and beyond, were always available to speak to or message if needed, if she was ill they always made the effort to check on how she was even outside of nursery hours. They even came along to our daughter’s christening, to which we only invited close family, but they felt as though they were.
We were very sad to have to leave the setting, and only did so when we moved house and the longer commute for us became too difficult, but in fact we kept this up for a year after moving house as we were so reluctant to move our daughter from such a lovely setting.
Julie and Carol also went above and beyond during lockdown 2020. They read books and sang songs to all the children before bed over a specially formed WhatsApp group that they organised. They did this every weekday evening before bedtime for the entirety of lockdown and during their own personal time. This meant so much at such a difficult time and our daughter really looked forward to story time/song time with Carol and Julie every evening. This also kept everyone’s spirits up and meant that it didn’t feel like we’d lost contact during the extended time away. I felt this really did encapsulate their commitment and dedication to the children that they look after. Even after our daughter left the setting, she has been back for visits and Carol and Julie continue to keep in touch. I could not recommend this setting, and in particular Julie and Carol, highly enough. They really are outstanding.

Wow well what can I say about these 2 amazing individuals, Carol and Julie has supported, nurtured, encouraged my little girl to be the amazing little individual she is today. My little one spend 2 years with them both and she loves every minute, the home form home environment with the added learning is a perfect setting for your little ones to grow. No words can express my gratitude for what these 2 wonderful ladies have done for my daughter and I highly recommend them to anyone.

I can’t recommend this setting enough. My boy started here at the age of one and he loved it. It’s got a lovely home environment but with the benefits of professional set up like a nursery. Julie and Carol are very friendly and accommodating and my little one happily jumped into their arms every morning. They do lots of activities, if we didn’t have to move due to location my boy would of happily stayed here till school. First class provider!
