Amazing childminder

Julie has cared for our daughter Asta from 9 months to 2 years old, and she’s just been amazing.

From our very first meeting with Julie, it was obvious that Asta felt comfortable and relaxed in her presence, and we knew straight away that she was the right person to care for her. Julie's a really lovely and friendly person, and her home is nice and clean. She shows a lot of affection towards the children and is generous with cuddles and kisses, which means Asta has formed a strong bond with her. It was always a real pleasure to see the big smile on Asta’s face when she saw Julie in the morning.

Julie is very conscious about the children’s development and makes sure they are challenged with lots of different activities during the day. They go out every day to various playgroups, rhyme time, soft play, the park or the local city farm etc. – everything a baby or toddler could dream of! Furthermore Julie is super organised, and every day we would get a detailed written description of Asta’s day, including how much she’s slept, how often she’s had her nappy changed, how she’s eaten etc. It was really nice to have all these things written down, so we knew exactly what they had been up to in the day.

All in all, Julie is a wonderful childminder, who we and especially Asta will miss very much!

We couldn’t rate Julie higher - she’s fantastic!

My daughter Florence was in Julie’s care for a year and it was fantastic. Florence loved her time with Julie. Julie provides a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment for the children which includes a wide variety of activities and daily trips out. Since Florence started in her care, she has developed tremendously and leant a lot. We feel very lucky we found Julie to care for Florence as she really is brilliant and we felt very confident in the high quality care she provided. We all miss Julie very much, especially Florence!

Childminder for my son

Julie looked after our son from 4 months old till he was nearly 2. I cannot recommend Julie enough.

I was nervous about going back to work but always felt reassured that our son was in incredibly good hands with Julie.

It was lovely to see our son's face light up when he saw Julie and that she always managed to get a giggle out of him, even at the end of the day.

Julie is more organised than most and we always felt was that she was focused in making sure that our son was not only happy but also safe.

Any child who gets the chance to be looked after by Julie us a lucky boy or girl!

Absolutely wonderful

We looked at a lot of nurseries and different childcare options for our 11 month old and knew from the minute we met Julie that she was the right person for him and us. We are very luck to have found such a loving, capable, trustworthy and experienced childminder.

Our son settled in very quickly into the homely environment and was always happy to go to her. Even in bad weather Julie always made sure they went out at least once a day to a good variety of activities and he had plenty of opportunities to socialise. He learned a lot with her, we had him come home knowing numbers and days of the week before we had even thought about trying to teach him.

She took care of him as she would her own kids and was genuinely pleased to see him in the mornings. She would always let us know right away if he seemed under the weather, was teething or had a temperature.

We use washable nappies at home and Julie was very accommodating in also using them (not all childminders seemed keen on the idea!) and making sure they were changed regularly enough.

In the whole time Julie never once took time off sick and always gave us more than enough notice for holidays. Julie was completely reliable and was flexible and understanding with us if we ever had to make last minute changes to drop off and pick up time because of work.

Our son was 27 months old when we moved out of the area and we are staying in touch as Julie and her family have been such an important part of his life.

We wholeheartedly recommend Julie!

Devoted and reliable

My family was very blessed to have Julie Davis as a full time Child Minder. She has been caring for our 2-year-old daughter since she turned three months old in August 2010.

Julie is devoted, reliable, and affectionate. She is also well-versed in child development, both due to her many years of experience including two children of her own and a natural affinity toward children. She relates to our daughter in such a delightful way, it was a pleasure leaving her with Julie in the mornings. Julie knows how to structure time well, taking our daughter to a variety of activities and fun days. Our little girl always had a huge smile and sparkling eyes when seeing Julie and it was very obvious that she simply loves and adores her.

Julie is a gentle, calm and nurturing person. She has an easy going personality and strives to do her best. She would always go the extra mile to help, and is very dependable. She is truly passionate about working with children. While we do not need her services anymore (as our daughter has gotten older), we consider her to be a member of the family.

We feel fortunate to have had Julie in our daughter’s life and are convinced that our daughter owes much of her positive development to her presence. We have every intention on keeping in touch as our little girl simply loves her and her family.

In summary, Julie displayed the qualities that make a childminder successful. She is very reliable, trustworthy, loving, and is in tune with the requirements of family and children. We came to know Julie through a reference from a good friend who told us among other good things that her son loved Julie. We are now happy to pass that reference on with our warm recommendations. We highly recommend her for any future nanny or child care worker position and will miss her a lot.
