About Me
I have been childminding for over 30 years and cared for over 100 children in that time .
Many of these children and their parents remain part of my life today after all the sentiment behind childminding is that we are a home from home solution to childcare needs.
My own children are living independently now and I have two grandchildren.
I live with my partner of 22 years Paul who also has enhanced PVG Disclosure Certificate and First Aid trained .
My Experience
As a childminder in Scotland my service is registered and regularly inspected by the Care Inspectorate .
I was recently inspected May 2023 and my service has Quality Grades of 5 (very good )
I am committed to continually developing and providing a quality service to the children & families .

I cannot recommend Lorraine enough. I have now sent both of my children to Lorraine and the whole experience has just been wonderful. I am heartbroken that we no longer require her services.
Lorraine treats all the kids equally and all the kids create such a lovely little bond. It’s such a lovely family home and it’s just a joy to drop your kids off each day knowing they are having a fun filled day. The kids are always busy either in the house or they are out at parks and have little days out. Lorraine really does just care so much for the children. The daily pictures and updates are fantastic and really just let me know my kids were enjoying themselves. I cannot recommend Lorraine enough as she really is just a phenomenal childminder and we will miss her massively.

My daughter went to Lorraine’s from 6 weeks old to when she started primary school and the only reason we left was my daughter was attending school in different area. Lorraine is everything I could of ask for to look after my baby from such a young age. Being a parent, Lorraine certainly provided “home away from home” we were like part of her family. Activities varied within her service, from outings, weekly play groups, indoor play to home baking there was always choice from my daughter. Lorraine helped prepare my daughter for school. Communication between us was always open, always getting updates from texts to picture which i loved.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Lorraine’s childminding service. And I thank her for the care and nurture she gave my daughter it’s made her into the person she is today.

We were extremely fortunate to have Lorraine as our childminder for both my daughters since they were 1 & 2 years old. I had only ever left the girls with grandparents in the past and was really nervous about leaving them but after meeting Lorraine, we never looked back. She was so patient settling the girls in (and me, thank you for all the updates!)
Lorraine’s house is filled with laughter and fun. My daughters enjoyed every day they spent with her and her family. It is so difficult to summarise what an immensely positive influence Lorraine had on my family; she was there through so many firsts with encouragement and advice if asked for.
Thank you Lorraine for being practically perfect in every single way, for all the support, advice and love you showed and continue to show my girls.

Lorraine has looked after our little girl 3-4 days a week since she was 6 months old. We wanted a kind, loving, home from home environment and that’s exactly what Lorraine offers! She is very child-centred and does wonderful activities and trips out with the children. It’s hard to put into words how much Lorraine and her “childminding family” mean to us. The rich experiences and development our little girl gets from being in Lorraine’s care far exceeds our expectations. Our wee one loves her time with Lorraine and it’s so reassuring to us to know that she’s happy and well cared for.

Thank you so much for caring for my son for the past 5 years. You have been an absolute treasure. It makes such a difference to be able to go to work knowing that he is safe and well looked after. There would never be enough words to express how grateful we are. Just wish there were more kids for you to mind (yeah right!!!). Take care & Thanks a million :)
