About Me
Hi there my name is Rachael i became a registered childminder in 2016 and I am loving my new career. At the moment I look after little ones Monday to Wednesday. I do wrap around care at Southfield park primary only, where my youngest child attends. I mainly work in the term time only with the odd exception. I am also nneb qualified (1997) I have over 25 years experience with babies and children from newborn to teenagers. I am still in contact with many of the families and one previous employer is now godmother to both of my children.
I have experience with food allergies, diabetes and reflux,adhd and autism. I have worked in nurseries, a creche and been a private nanny. I am now childminding as it works for my family and I still get to do what I love, I get great satisfaction from helping to nurture and grow babies and children in my care so they flourish and become well rounded, happy confident small people.
I love to cook healthy fresh nutritious meals and have a passion for baking! I love to be active and am always running around playing games with the kids. I also really love doing craft with the children and getting messy!
I aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment where your little ones can thrive and grow. We like to get out and about each morning and enjoy trips to local playgroups, hobbledown farm,soft plays and the woods which we are lucky enough to have on our doorstep. I have lots of toys and resources to support each child to develop ready for starting school. I provide all activities, food/snacks, nappies, wipes and even suncream!
I have an all weather garden with many different toys too, including a trampoline, sand and water trays as well as ride ons, a slide and seesaw. Rachel answered an ad for a SEND babysitter for us. She'd come to the interview fully prepared & watched several you tubes on my daughter's disability. It didn't phase her one bit! She is a regular sitter for us and my kids adore her. She is prepared, fun, professional and totally focussed on their (additional, medical, disability) needs. She's a lovely person totally trustworthy and we're lucky to have her in our lives xx

I love looking after your two, we do have a lot of fun together and I really appreciate how challenging it can be but I always feel confident that I can cope in any circumstances xx
My daughter has been with Rachel since she was 9months old. She is now 2.5yrs and absolutely adores her days with Rachel. Under Rachel's care she has become a confident happy little girl. Rachel has helped my daughter in so many ways, I cannot begin to describe. Through the activities, playgroups and unwavering support Rachel has helped develop her gross and fine motor skills, her emotions, speech and confidence.
Her homemade meals are healthy, varied and nutritious. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Rachel.

I happened to meet Rachael in the playground as I was thinking of going back to work.
After observing the way all the children gravitated to her, I was so happy to learn she was a childminder.
All the kids just love her, even ones she doesn’t look after. It’s such a wonderful, trustworthy sign of a fantastic, nurturing person.
I felt really confident to leave my 9mth old baby with her and they have bonded so well and very quickly.
My daughter is super happy and settled with Rachael and loves going there.
Rachael is always upbeat and cheerful and takes the children out and about daily.
I believe she gives my daughter all the love she needs when I’m not there ❤️
And finally, she puts up with my dietary requests which is a big thing for me and I trust her implicitly.

Rachel is the most incredible childminder. The bond she has made with my son is just beyond wonderful to watch. I will be really sad to see him leave her to attend pre school in September as he’s been so happy with her. Even down to the smallest of things she’s taught him like putting his coat on. His speech has also come on leaps and bounds since being with Rachel. I cannot thank her enough for taking the best care of my son. He absolutely adores her. If your looking for a childminder in this area, look no further!

My 2 yr old loves Rachael and is always asking if it's time to go to her house or trying to call her on the phone! Rachael has infinite patience and sends me pictures of all their lovely games and trips, and I frequently get cards, drawings and presents they've made together.
I can't recommend Rachael highly enough. She's an amazing childminder and such a lovely person - we were originally only looking for short term childcare but our daughter has such a great time that we've continued.

Rachael has been looking after my 2 year old son for over a year now. He absolutely adores Rachael and her children and always looks forward to fun with them. When he first started he was very clingy and timid and wanted Rachael to cuddle him all the time. She was so patient and reassuring and now he strolls in and doesn’t even look back at me and is so confident.
Rachael always gives him great food and has fun activities and outings planned or when he’s been tired and needed extra sleeps she has gone with what he needs.
Can thoroughly recommend Rachael to anyone looking for a childminder.

My children love the time they spend with Rachael. She provides a home from home environment where my children feel loved and supported. Lots of crafts and baking. Highly recommend

Rachael has been looking after my two daughters (aged 8 and 6) three days a week after school since October 2016.
The girls get on very well with Rachael, and having been with other childminders, declared she is 'the best childminder ever'. They both love going to her house and it is always a struggle to get them to go home. Rachael provides a variety of home-cooked meals with dessert every evening which the children enjoy, as well as an after school snack on the way home. She does lots of art and craft and seasonal projects with them, the most recent was a Chinese dragon for new year. She communicates very well regarding how they are and if there are any problems, as well as sharing pictures of messy play and fun in the park. Overall, I am delighted with Rachael's standard of care and feel confident the girls are happy and well cared for when they are with her.

My daughter was looked after by Rachael from the age of 9 months through to 2 years, for three days a week. We only moved her to a nursery closer to where we lived, otherwise my daughter would have stayed with Rachael.
Rachael was fantastic with my daughter - she was great with baby led weaning and took her to local play groups - lots of one to one play and letting my daughter explore through this. My daughter didn't want to come home each day as she was having so much fun! Rachael's facilities at home are great, plenty of toys to play with, good one to one educational learning - numbers and letter of the alphabet - great outdoor space and sand pit too. Rachael cooks everything from scratch and my daughter loved the variety from casseroles to risottos. I was really impressed by Rachael, she made it so easy for me to leave my daughter, knowing my daughter would be in safe hands - Rachael is very caring and knowledgeable about children after her many years as a nanny and childminder. I couldn't recommend her enough to other parents!
