My Summary
About Me
Hi everyone!
My name is Martina and I am a 34 years old nanny as well as mum of two boys. I am mainly considering roles in SW and SE London. I currently work in Hampstead Heath as the family I work for has moved from central London while I was already working for them and I decided to give it a go. Before I used to work between Battersea and Chelsea for over 5 years and really enjoyed the location. I have a fast and very easy connection to London (up to 20 mins on the train).
I have over 9 years of experience in childcare as a permanent nanny but also as an ad hoc childcare provider for a couple of London based agencies, which has allowed me to work with almost 100 of families by now. I am DBS checked and I've done several courses including Paediatric First aid, Postnatal Infant Care, Safeguarding children etc. I am currently working on my Gentle Sleep training, OCN level 4 qualification. I've also volunteered as a nursery assistant for a short period of time which has allowed me to get involved with special needs children.
I consider myself as a very positive, social and reliable person with passion in working with children. My approach to childcare is through responsive parenting with lots of mutual respect, nice bond and effective communication. I quite naturally lean to Montessori approach as I encourage independence and confidence in children from very early stages. I am loving and I aim to create a relaxed environment for children while I do set boundaries where necessary. As a mum, I know how hard and emotional it may feel to go back to work - it is a big step! I will support you and your little one through this transition to the best of my ability. I can assure you, that your child will be safe, loved, respected, having fun and reaching his/her full potential in my care.
I enjoy engaging in variety of indoor and outdoor activities, I like to involve children in age-appropriate tasks to support their self-esteem, I love meeting other nannies! I am very interested in psychology, and I'm fascinated by how much is linked with our childhood - how crucial the environment we grow up in is for our future, so I take my role very seriously.
I try to be as flexible as possible; I always try my best to work with parents needs even with short notice. I usually get on really well with everybody and I like to keep an open relationship with my employers as I believe a good bond makes it easier for you as parents and more enjoyable for me as a nanny. I like to inform parents about everything we do through the day, send photos if parents wish so they don't miss out in any way and know what their little one is up to.
Having a great team bond and sharing similar views with parents is very important to me and I am in no rush to go back to work, so I am happy to wait as long as it's needed to find the right family to work for :)

My Experience
I've looked after babies, toddlers, twins and teenagers too (ages 0-13). I have an experience with weaning, potty training, fussy eaters etc. Apart from my regular work I also accept a big amount of ad hoc and emergency childcare covers through agencies, so I get to meet new children and families almost every week.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
- Nannying from £18.00 per hour (gross)
I base my rate on many factors including the time to get to work and travel costs, whether it is a part time or full-time position and how many days a week the hours are spread over. As a rough guide, for a full-time role my rates would start at £18 hr (gross inclusive of tax, Ni and pension) for a daytime nannying, this compares to £14 net per hour. Weekends, bank holidays, overnight stays and hotel bookings are negotiable.

My wife and I interviewed a number of nannies to look after our 2 girls and rated Martina very highly. It was only due to the fact that one of the girls key workers at nursery approached us about potential nanny opportunities and also lives local to us that we decided to go with her.
Martina has an impressive natural way with kids and very much appeared genuinely invested in the development of children.
We would highly recommend that you should meet and interview Martina and are sad that we cannot have her look after our girls.
