About Me
My name is Sarah Sharpe (Poppins Daycare) and I have two children aged 21 and 18. I have been married for 25 years and live in the Highlight Park area of Barry. I am a Hygge in the Early Years and SchemaPlay Accredited Childminder. I am a Flying Start Network Childminder so can offer 12.5 hr funded places to children aged 2-3 years and i can offer 30 hours Childcare Offer to 3 and 4 year olds. I am Registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) and the Professional Association of Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) and have a full CRB. I have been inspected and registered by Food Standards Agency. I am CIW graded Excellent in all areas (Aug 2024). I hold a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate. I hold a full/clean UK driving licence and business class car insurance. I encourage learning through play to follow the New Curriculum for Wales. I speak basic Welsh.
My Experience
I have been a registered Childminder since February 2012 and have two children of my own. I have 11 children on my books currently (different days/times) and I have lots of nephews, cousins and friends with children which enables me to have great confidence in looking after children. I think this is just as important as having any childcare qualifications.
My Qualifications
I have gained numerous qualifications to include Level 5 Advance Practice Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development, Level 3 Diploma in Children's Care Learning and Development (CCLD), Level 3 Playwork, Home Based Chilcare, Paediatric First Aid, Child Protection,Level 2 Food Safety, Behaviour Management, Engaging with Parents, Alert to Asthma, Makaton Sign Language, Food Allergen Training and Early Years Foundation Phase Training. I'm a Flying Start Network childminder so undertake numerous training sessions every year to keep up to date.
My Availability
I have availability for under 3's from September 2025 and wrap around from All Saints Primary School 3.30pm to 4.30pm mon to thurs only at present.
