My son started Pumpkin Patch at 2 years after his previous nursery had to close, we were incredibly anxious about the transition as he was overly sensitive to change and incredibly shy - we needn't have been. The team at Pumpkin Patch, led by Anita, are professional, incredibly supportive and clearly love what they do. My not-so-little boy will start school in September and he is very ready thanks to this wonderful nursery and the care and encouragement he has received. I should also mention it's a lovely, clean, well kept space with a wonderful large outdoor area!

Hi Lorna, That is so lovely, thank-you for taking the time to leave a review.
I can't believe he's off to school, we will miss him and you all very much, but he is ready and I'm sure he will love big school!
Thanks again
Anita
I'm so totally impressed by Pumpkin Patch nursery, Brighton. I felt so completely comfortable at this nursery from the moment I gave them a call.
All the staff care about each child. The ethos is focused on creativity and imagination, learning and communication. It's a very wonderful find.
My son loves it so much, as do I. We have found the staff to be nothing but caring, flexible, kind and attentive. My son loves his keyworkers so much, stating that they are kind, smiley, fun people.
My child is entranced and enthralled by a worker teaching him to use numbers or cooking or mark making, he talks about nursery for days after every session.
I cannot recommend Pumpkin Patch nursery enough.

Hi Gembe,
Thank-you for such a lovely review, we love having him in pre-school, he's so much fun, has so many friends and loves taking part in everything!
Thank-you again

The alternative vibe of the nursery is just gold and a complete stand out. Whilst the younger girls can understandably lack the maturity and experience required for parental rapport in these settings, the maturer, laid back staff such as Ella and John who also have their own children, which brings a valuable empathic element to parental rapport, absolutely make the vibe of this nursery what it is, and they both would make fantastic supervisors. These two totally 'get' kids, which as a parent is all you really want. Lovely people, cannot recommend enough.
This is the most flexible nursery I have come across, and they demonstrate an absolute genuine care for the children. You can instantly tell during the settling in sessions that their concern is the child not profits. Settling in policy is also outstanding and completely guided by the parent and child's needs. Couldn't be more perfect in this regard. So refreshing!

It was really hard to choose a nursery for our 4 months old baby when we moved to Brighton. We needed a lot of flexibility with the sessions but also we needed to be sure that our son would receive the greatest care ! Anita arranged the sessions to suit our schedules at work which really helped and all the staff welcomed Sohan so warmly we were really happy to have made this decision ! It's been over 8 months now and Sohan's been enjoying going to Pumpkin Patch, he gets to listen to Spanish songs there, to go and see the hens in the garden, he gets lots of cuddles and encouragement in his growing steps everyday. We get some feedback everyday we feel listened to and get some advice whenever asked for. Pumpkin Patch has been the best support we could have had with our little one !

Thank-you for such a lovely review. Your little man is such a pleasure to have at nursery watching him grow and learn and develop into such a gorgeous little boy. Thank-you!
My oldest son loved the nursery, he learnt about confidence, about sharing, about animals and nature. He loves books and that was the area where he would get to when we dropped him off in the morning, and with time he got more confident and more secure to engage in the other activities they were doing. When he left (almost five) he could write his name and many numbers 1 to 10. He could also count in Spanish and say some basic Spanish words. He was happy there, very happy. Excited about forest school, about the chicks they had in the garden, about the visit from the Booth museum. He did also two short courses of tennis lessons. It's definitely the place where my son could explore lots and lots of areas. I always received feedbacks and what I also really appreciated was the book Anita gave me at the end of the year. Full of pictures and notes and happy moments. What I think is that the staff encourage the children to learn through play, and that's great. Their mind is always questioning things.
My youngest son is there now, in pre-school. He started at two, and it was hard at first, for him and for me. He was not used to be without his mummy, not at all. But day by day it got better, I knew it would take some time. He received lots of cuddles and reassurance. He's at nursery two mornings a week and I'm happy to see him there, to leave him there, playing and learning and having fun.
I'm confident Anita and the other will do they best to help his phisical and emotional and social development.

Thank-you Mara for the lovely review. You have 2 very gorgeous boys and we are very lucky to have them at our nursery!
Our son has been at Pumpkin Patch for just over a year and our experience has been brilliant. The nursery staff are lovely, many are very experienced and they always make time to feedback thoroughly. The settling and transition processes are exceptional in that they are very child focused and allow plenty of time, which is particularly helpful if you have a child who takes a bit of extra time to adjust. We needed to put our son in nursery because we needed childcare but a year in he has got so much out of it beyond it meeting the childcare need for us. He has had the chance to try lots of new things including different activities like music and Spanish as well as having a lot of fun with messy play and in the lovely garden. Above all and most tellingly he loves going to nursery.

Hi Caroline, thank-you for the lovely review.
Thanks Anita
My two children have both attended Pumpkin Patch on Preston Drove. My eldest from 3 and my middle from 18 months. My youngest will be joining in September at 10 months. We've experienced all the stages from the baby room (Poppets) right through to the Kindergarten. All stages have been excellent with fantastic opportunities such as watching chicks hatch and collecting eggs once they're fully grown to yoga, music classes, Spanish and forest school. They even have a dedicated Ateiler. The outside space is excellent- the best I've seen in the area (and we visited lots!) and perfect for busy 2 year olds who can't stay still! Kindergarten really prepares them for reception as they work on all areas linking to the reception curriculum but also do a lot of work getting the children emotionally prepared with strong links to most of the primary schools and regular visits. Meals are fresh and varied and the staff always have time to answer questions. I love the parent online diaries so I can see what they're up to whilst I'm at work. Anita and the team are very flexible with hours as well and always try to accommodate any last minute changes you have (they were even on standby to have my son whilst I was expecting to go into labour with my 3rd!) Would definitely recommended to other parents.

Hi Cassie, Sorry for the delay and thank-you for the lovely review, really looking forward to your little lady starting with us next month.
Thanks again

My daughter joined the nursery December last year and must say they were really supportive as a first time Mum returning to work I found it very difficult leaving my daughter, but they made it easy for me and they offer an amazing settling in period which really helped. All the staff are lovely and my daughter likes them all and will go to anyone.. This really reassures me. My daughter loves the nursery and would really recommend to anyone.

Thank-you for such a lovely review. I'm glad that you have found our nursery to be welcoming and the staff supportive. It is lovely having you at Pumpkin Patch. Thanks again
Both of my kids have attended and even though my eldest is now at school (age 6) she loves going back in the school holidays when they put on special activities. My youngest is enjoying his time to Kindergarten which is perfect for preparing them for school, as well as continuing to spend half his time in the pre-school class. The staff are great and there is a lovely relaxed atmosphere, big garden and good meals cooked onsite, but the best bit for our kids has been the wide-range of activities that they can take part in. They have enjoyed forest school courses, Spanish lessons, Music Mike sessions, art classes, professional-led tennis classes and yoga. It's much more than i could ever dream to do with them at home. I would highly recommend it.
