My Summary
About Me
I was a childminder for 8 years and my mum worked with me for the last 6 years. Due to the demand for our services we began looking for premises. It took a long time but we finally found a lovely little building and now operate from there. Although we are now classed as a nursery we are very keen to maintain the childminding ethos. We have tried to keep that homely feel and we do not keep our children completely segregated. We think that siblings should be able to see each other throughout the day if they wish to. We have also observed the positive effects on both older children playing with younger and vice versa, they are like an extended family!
My Experience
I started working with children whilst at secondary school, as I carried out my work experience within a local primary school.
I worked as a parent helper in my childrens school for 6 years and then for a further 2 years whilst completing my Level 2 Teaching assistant qualification, during this time I gained vital practical experience. However once I had completed this course I decided that I didn't want to assist, I wanted to be more hands on with childrens development and care. I then registered as a childminder in December 2009. I love my job and have received postive feedback from parents, hence the step forward.
We have a lovely group of staff who are equally passionate about the care and education of children.

Both my children (aged 3 1/2 and 2) have been coming to Lyndsay's since they were 9 months old. I have always been really happy with the childcare provided and I feel that the ethos and values of both Lyndsay and Jacqueline are shared with my own so I know my children will have consistency between home and childcare. I feel like my children are one of the family which makes me feel confident that they are happy and are well looked after.
I live some distance from Lyndsay's (I moved just before my second started with Lyndsay) and, despite the distance, I had not thought of changing my childcare as I am so happy with the placement and my children are obviously very happy too. I feel that my children have thrived in this setting.
Lyndsay has a communication book which she completes for my children which details the meals/activities on a day to day basis which I feel allows me the opportunity to know what my children are doing. I also feel that I have time when I drop off/pick up my children to talk about the day etc. This approach helps me to participate in, and continue, some of the topics/activities they have been doing (although maybe not the jelly or gloop which I am always being asked to do at home - I will keep that mess with Lyndsay thanks!). I feel that there is a good balance between doing 'fun' developmental stuff and doing the more formal educational work with the children.

Lyndsay and Jacqueline are excellent childminders. They have made me feel reallly at ease with the whole process of leaving my 8 month old son with a childminder. They are very accomodating and treat both you and your child as if you were a member of their own family.
My son enjoys his visits and we are both waiting for when he starts full time. Even more fun, friendly smiling faces and new friends to meet. Lots of one to one attention but also lots of group activities.
All of this and my fees are spread over 12 months even though he is only attending term time (so seems cheaper than most other facilities ) !
I would highly reccomend Lyndsay, knowing your child is this happy, makes leaving them a whole lot easier.

Lyndsay and her mum Jacqueline are two of the best childminders I've met. They give a home from home feeling and have a one to one interaction with the children in their care. My 2 year old son has never been happier and as us mums know 'happy babies make happy mummies'. They have a bright and happy environment. I would highly recommend their services and I'm so happy I found them.

My 4 year old son has been childminded by Lyndsay for over a year and I couldn't be happier with the situation. Harry loves Lyndsay and her family and is treated like one of the family himself. Lyndsay is very caring and extremely responsible. I would recommend her 100%.
