My Summary
About Me
As a mother of three young children, I know what it feels like wanting to have your own child(ren) looked after by a compassionate, caring and responsible person who would care for them as their own. So here is a little about what I provide to the children in my care:
I encourage independence, confidence and accept their uniqueness. I teach and show them fairness, self-expression and respect.
I understand their natural drive for finding out about themselves and about the world around them, by taking the children out in the community.
I admire and encourage their imagination and creativity.
I observe and listen and learn from them.
I read a lot and we visit the library every week.
I’ve recently re-registered with OFSTED after taking a break to look after my two young children. The eldest of the two has just started Fairlawn school and the youngest attends nursery part time.
My Experience
My responsibilities include safeguarding the children, following the EYFS Statutory Framework, attend activities together i.e. playgroups, ballet and swimming. Experience with multiple babies and toddlers. Special-needs experience.
Living in Forest Hill I’m lucky to have close access to many parks, the Horniman Museum, soft plays, cinemas, playgrounds, One Tree Hill and a nature reserve.
I have been for caring for children since 2007. I’m very patient and confident in working with children regardless of their age and background. My setting is safe, caring, warm, happy and a stimulating environment where children thrive. All children I have cared for only leave to start school. I have really good relationships with parents. They feel they can approach me with any matters regarding their child/ren. I provide daily diary's on the activities that we have done during our day, with an area for parents to provide comments.
I am able to provide references where desired.

Tia has helped me with childcare with all three of my children whether it be as babies or toddlers during the school holidays. I am self employed so finding someone to entrust your newborn to is hard, over the past 20 years I have relied upon Tia for childcare for my children, one of Tia's greatest qualities is putting things in place to keep whomever she is caring for safe. My children have always felt happy in Tia's care and still look forward to being with Tia during the school holidays where they enjoy many adventures.
My daughter was first looked after Tia when she was 9 months old, and I needed some part time cover while I worked in a freelance position. I had no idea how lucky I was to have found her. I had initially hoped to find a childminder closer to home (Crystal Palace) but couldn't find anyone flexible enough to cover my short term contract. When I later got more work, Tia was my first choice, and I was happy to drive the extra miles to ensure my daughter could be looked after by her.
Apart from being brilliant with kids (a great teacher, fun, creative, well-organised and a joy for them to be with) she is pretty good with adults too! Good communication, flexible, and easy-going. She is also qualified, OFSTED approved, fully aware of other standards and requirements and mindful and respectful of anything else that might be an issue e.g., dietary requirements.
Going back to work can be difficult and I couldn't have done it without having completely reliable and supportive childcare. I totally trusted Tia to look after my daughter and take care of her in a happy, loving environment while I was working 9-5.
