My Experience

I have had plenty of experience with children from newborn - 12 years. In 2017 I began my childcare journey and started off as a trainee teaching assistant in a reception class, I worked at 2 primary schools alongside completing my diploma. During this time I also had my first au-pair job where I looked after a 2 year old boy and a newborn whilst also doing some light housework. I would do playtime, dinner time, bath time and bed time. After this I started working at a nursery as a qualified practitioner, I learnt a lot during this job and had experience working in all 4 rooms, I was based mainly in the baby room but would also cover and help in the toddler room, preschool room and after school club. Unfortunately after the pandemic my nursery was forced to close, so I moved on and become a nanny where I looked after a 3 year old girl and helped her with potty training and speech development, alongside looking after her 12 year old brother, cooking dinner and doing light housework and helping with homework. Alongside this job I also did childminding and babysitting on the weekends for two boys aged 4 and 2. After this I became a nanny to a wonderful family and I looked after a 6 month old baby girl, the family and I grew very close and still keep in contact. This job was what made me realise that nannying is my ideal job. I bonded with the baby so well and got to witness pivotal moments of her life such as first words, first steps and more. I worked in partnership with the family by keeping a daily diary of the infants food & milk intake, nap times, nappy changes, activities & development. I worked with this family until they felt ready to start their little girl at nursery. I then moved on to be a Room Leader of a Toddler room at New Beginnings Day nursery in Loughton. At this job I managed a room of 16 toddlers and 4 staff, I learnt good leadership skills and also ensured high quality of care and safeguarding of the children. I had over 10 key children which I am responsible for keeping track of their development and planning for their next steps. I was a temporary nanny for a family in Epping through 2022-2023, the child I looked after was Montessori raised so I have learnt a lot about Montessori style teaching. My last job was a fixed-term nanny job from April 2023-December 2023. I worked full time, 6 days a week, as a nanny to a 2 year old and a newborn. I would take the children out to classes and for outdoor trips, organise fun indoor learning based activities and kept a daily diary and learning journal for their parents to read and be able to track their development and be aware of what the children did throughout the day.

My Availability

I am looking for babysitting opportunities and am willing to stay overnight. I am happy to travel to London, Hertfordshire or Essex.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £14.00 per hour
• Nannying from £14.00 per hour (gross)

£13-14p/h (rates are negotiable)
