About Me
I'm Rachel a level 3 Btec trained childcare and education worker. I'm registered with Ofsted and rated good with outstanding features.
I have experience in a variety of education and childcare settings. Working With children newborn to 16 years.
I have two of my own children 13 and 5. My own son has adhd and autism and I have experience working with children with additional needs.
My childminding hours are 7.30am - 6.30 pm Monday - Friday. I will always help my families with urgent childcare needs where possible.
I can offer mothers help or appointment cover at short notice.
I also can offer some help on evenings and weekends.
I cover all of the Newport are surrounding areas with my own transport
My setting is first and foremost a home. We back on to the canal in Newport so we are surrounded by everything Newport has to offer. Our playrooms are full of educational resources and fun toys for all ages and stages of development.
Children are cared for on a 1 - 3 ratio maximum. The positive of the small group environment is that we are much closer than in a nursery environment and the children and their families become an extension of my own family.
We have all our policies in place to ensure the education, safety and welfare needs of your children are of upmost priority.
We visit toddler groups, forest schools and music groups free of charge to parents and all meals are included free of charge.
We are flexible and hours can change to match shift patterns. However please be mindful that I have families who also work shifts so it is about providing as much notice as possible so that everyone has the hours they need provided to them.

I believe this to be a false review. As all my parents will confirm I pride myself on going above and beyond for the children and their family. I will always put myself out to help out for extra hours as needed for urgent care needs and always communicate via whats app, texts and calls.
Rachel has been looking after my three children (2, 5 and 7yrs) for the past few months and they are absolutely besotted with her. To be honest, so am I - she has been continuously fabulous and has been a consistently positive experience, both in terms of how well she cares for the children, the amount of thought and effort she's invested in setting up her home to look after them, and how understanding and flexible she's been with my often haphazard working patterns.
I'm not going to pretend that when I was last looking for childcare that I had many options or choice (thanks, Covid!) but I can honestly say that if I'd had the time and a range of options to choose from, I don't think I could have done better finding someone to trust the well-being of my children to. Rachel is reliable, and completely respects my parenting preferences in how the kids are managed with regards to being disciplined if needed. Her home is tidy and well laid out, and I have no concerns that my children are anything but safe and cared for when they are with her.
A sign of how much the kids love her is that they frequently request to go see her on my days off!
