I am a qualified teacher who over the past year has been self employed as a Nanny and as a PA for children with SEN.
I have a passion for walking and the outdoors as I believe it to be a therapeutic place as well as a fantastic environment.
I have raised 3 children, now 22,20 and 17 as a single Mum alongside my work as a Special Needs Teacher.
My Experience
I am a qualified Early Years Teacher with a BEd (Hons) degree. My career started as a Nanny and then moved onto a Preschool Teacher at a private nursery. For the past 24 years I have been a Special Education Needs Teacher at a Special School teaching ages from 4-19 years.
Throughout my years of experience I have developed skills to be a diverse, caring, dynamic and versatile teacher.
My skill set include an holistic and therapeutic approach. I believe that the core to each child and their development is that of happiness and wellbeing as well as promoting independence and life skills. This is to enable the child to thrive to the best of their ability.
I am an extremely caring and empathetic person who believes in nurturing children through a calm, consistent, creative and fun loving approach.

Beccy has been looking after Odette (2yo) for over 6 months now and has become an extension of our family in the process.
Beccy is flexible, considerate, communicates with us all the time, and operates as though Odette is her own.
Odettes speech and development has come on really well since Beccy has been in our lives, and that's because of all the time and investment she puts into making the time that she's with Odette to be fun, interactive and educational.
Beccy does cost higher than the average child minder, but that's because what she provides in service and care is well above market average.
I have total piece of mind when Beccy had my daughter. We are very lucky to have Beccy in our corner. 🥰

It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to care for Odette and to work with you as a family.
Beccy has been looking after my 19 month old son Frank for the past ~6 months. Beccy was the first non-family member we ever left Frank with, and from the beginning she has been so thoughtful and considerate, listening to my concerns and going out of her way to reassure us that all is well. Beccy listened intently to what we wanted in terms of care for Frank, and has been a calm and grounding presence in the face of toddler ups and downs! Beccy always arrives early and is totally flexible, offering support outside standard hours when needed. In July, we are expecting a new baby and Frank will be beginning nursery in June. In addition, additional family has moved nearby offering help with childcare. Even so, we have deliberated long and hard about how we could work to keep Beccy anyway as she is such an amazing woman to have on the team. Beccy is totally trustworthy and friendly, and I'd reccomend her to anyone looking for support with thier kiddos. She treats Frank with respect and empowers him to do things for himself and grow in his independence. Its clear Beccy truly enjoys her work and cares about the kids she works with. Thank you Beccy!!!

Thank you also for being the most wonderful family to work for.
Beccy has been working with my teenage son, who has severe learning difficulties, for almost a year. She is absolutely amazing with him and he loves going out with her. All of the activities that she does with him are spot on for his needs and interests. Beccy is extremely kind, caring and supportive. Beccy is great at communicating with my son who has communication difficulties, she is patient, understanding and it she is very much in tune with him and his needs. I would highly recommend Beccy to anyone.

We felt very lucky to have Beccy looking after our 7 year old. Beccy was always punctual and never shrunk from taking our little girl on outings. I always felt like our little one was happy and content when coming from time spent with Beccy who as us also practives in positive reinforcement. Beccy is very professional and a joy to have as a nanny.
