My Summary
Childcare For Birth To 5Years And School Holiday Club
About Me
Step By Step Childcare.
We are a nurturing, warm, friendly home from home childminding setting.
The setting has Leeanne, an Ofsted registered and level 3 qualified (diploma in childcare and education) and SENCO level 3 certified childminder who wholes a National Professional Qualification in Early Years Leadership. Fully insured with relevant police check, childminder with a full UK driving licence and business insurance. Leeanne is also a mum to 3 boys.
There are also a team of 4 amazing friendly, passionate and enthusiatic 4 assistants who are DBS checked who trained qualifications range from apprentice level through to level 2 in childcare, level 3 in childcare and level 6 qualified.
The setting operates from the childminders home where her husband and children over 16 are CRB/DBS cleared. There is a designated garden room where all the fun, learning, magic and play happens as well as access daily to the safe outdoor environment.
The setting does have a dog, who is free to be herself in the home environment. She is a border collie cross labrodor and is very pleasent with up to date vaccinations and worming. Children are not left unsupervised around animals but are taught skills of how we observe an animals behaviour, we ask owners permission before we go ahead and stroke so that the children can learn outside the setting when with other family members when seeing pets outdoors on walks.
The previous job role experiences of the childminder consist of working in schools, day nurseries, management in day nurseries, children's centres and SEN schools.
We follow a Hygge approach where we believe in being present in the moment with the children enjoying the simple things in life, sparking curiosity and magical experiences through exploring nature and the world around us.
Leeanne previously was selected to be an Area lead as part of the Department of Education's COVID-19 recovery childminder mentor programme - supporting childminders across the country.
We follow the EYFS framework and supporting your child with their development and other individual needs. We provide daily information about your child's day, seasonal newsletters, also termly parents evenings to discuss your child's development and share with you your child's learning journey and how we support their next steps.
We follow a thorough hygiene practice to keep everyone safe but also not taking away the love and care we give to our minded children taking in to account their individual needs and learning and development.
My themes follow the seasons with giving the children real first hand experiences and we plan "in the moment" following each of their interests and where they are in their own little learning experiences.
We are a larger childminding setting where a maximum of 4 of us are working with the children at any time with the maximum of 12 under 5 year olds.

I was on the verge of leaving my job after seeing how upset my daughter got everyday when she went to a private nursery. She cried when I dropped her and cried when I fetched her. I’m sure some days she had cried for most of the day. Then i found these wonderful ladies. And I couldn’t be any happier. Everything they do is special. The time they take for not only the babies but for us as parents it’s unreal. My daughter was a baby when she started here. They helped her grow. They helped raise her to be the confident caring little lady she is. And they got her ready for “big school”. She will this year go into year two. And yet still relates back to her time here and the wonderful memories she has. And now my other daughter has just started her step by step journey and I’m so excited for her as I know how amazing it will be. There not just childminders. There my support and sanity on a daily basis. Even with these uncertain time’s there still here for us and supporting us. You guys never change and never stop being so wonderful xxx

Leeanne & her team are so awesome at what they do! They helped my children settle in so well to the setting when I went back to work.
Leeanne makes the children feel welcome and goes above & beyond with the activities she offers and provides for our little ones.
Nothing is ever too much trouble and always has the children as a top priority (even when she isn’t looking after them!)
The transition she helps with, from a childminder setting to school is on point. My daughter fit right into school from the day she started and has exceeded with her school work, I mainly put this down to the learning the girls provided at Step by Step as my daughter was taught so much while she was there. I’m hoping my Son follows in her footsteps 🙌🏻
Parents are always kept in the loop with monthly newsletters and daily communication from the team.
I would recommend Step by Step to any parent who is looking for childcare 🥰

I can honestly say that all the team at Step By Step Childcare are fantastic. My little one went there for over 2 years and loved every minute of it. The care and attention that they put into each child, along with all of the planning and activities that they offer is amazing. His graduation was so special filled with lots of memories that had us all in floods of tears.

I love step by step, the staff are excellent, and experienced, the setting is just amazing, think nursery meets home, it has everything you could want from a child-minder, daily reports on what my son has been doing all day and photos if he's done something amazing too, I can no fault it, my son had learned and done so much in such a short space of time from going there, and most importantly he loves it there too!

My little boy has been attending step by step child minding part time for about 8weeks. I am very pleased with the care given also pleased with the activities he gets todo. His development since attending step by step child minding has come on leaps and bounds, he enjoys going and some days doesn't want to come home.. Would definitely recommend.
