My Summary
About Me
I live in the Copnor area of Portsmouth with my husband and two children aged 13 and 14. I am Ofsted registered and have been childminding since 2008.
My last 2 inspections I was graded Outstanding.
I love my job and attend playgroups, visit libraries, parks, soft play areas.
I have a vast variety of educational toys for children to play with and do various craft activities, cooking, singing/dance sessions, messy play, games etc in my home.
I have a large decked and paved garden with a see-saw, water/sand/soil tray, scooters, trikes, skipping rope etc to keep children active and enjoying the outside area.
My home is warm and welcoming and the children that come here feel safe, secure and have a great time.
My Experience
I've had work experience at Nurseries and Schools through my BTEC.
I have worked as a classroom assistant in a Reception class for 5 years. Working with 4 and 5 year olds.
Being a Mum has giving me a lot of experience.
I have minded children from 4 months to 13 years.
My Qualifications
In 1997 I completed a 2year BTEC National Diploma in Childhood Studies.
I commit myself to attending regular training courses and workshops, about 4 to 5 a year.
Paediatric 1st Aid Certificate.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.50 per hour
Standard rate is £4.50 an hour.
School pick up and part time may vary depending on how many hours needed.

Karen looked after my daughter Lily-su from when she was 4 months old until she was 2 1/2 when i went on maternity leave to have my 2nd child...You genuinely will not find a more trustworthy, reliable and caring person to look after your children. And Lily-su always had a great time with karen and as an early talker would come home with stories of going to the library and to playgroup and other fun activities throughout her childminding day. These activities which i continued with karen whilst on maternity leave and encouraged me to myself become a registered childminder :-), not only taking into account karen being a great childminder but also her children welcomed lily into there home environment and watched her grow and probably even when shes 18 will still be known as baby lily ..lol,,, As a new mum no one gives you a text book and tells you what to do with a child through all the changes that occur esp in behaviour , i could always approach karen for advice (and still do lol) without judgement and found her a great help.....In summary A home from home and someone who will work with u to give ur child the best possible start ........:-)
