About Me

Hi,
-I am Mandy and I have worked within childcare settings since I was 18 yrs old. I have had four OUTSTANDING ofsted inspections. The latest being July 2022.

I have always wanted to work with children since I was very young and 30 odd years later I am still doing it and more importantly still loving it!

After completing my NNEB I worked within the social services sector for 8 years, working with families in crisis and children in the care setting, I have worked in the SCBU at the Countess of Chester Hospital and then I worked for 8 years within a unit attached to a mainstream school for children with additional needs including ASD, ADHD and other additional needs. I also spent some time as a detached Youth Worker for WBC and loved my time working there with young people.

I have been a childminder now for 19 years and can honestly say its the most rewarding job I have had, having the pleasure of watching the children grow up and become part of their lives. I have children arriving with me at 6 - 7 months old and not leaving until high school and beyond and still remaining in touch in adult hood. How special is that?

I am married to Barry and we have 2 adult children, one who has left home and the other still here at present.

I am well aware of the difficulties facing parents when choosing childcare, and the importance of finding the right care for your child and trusting the establishment that provides that care. I can understand the fears and concerns that you may have as I too had to seek childcare myself for my daughter and I hope that I can go some way in helping you and supporting you through this process.

My aims and ethos as a registered childminder is to provide a safe and happy place for your child/ren, one where they can learn, grow and develop emotionally, physically and socially, with the emphasis on providing a home from home environment which is safe, stimulating and most importantly lots of fun!

I hope that my home is a place where you can leave your child safe in the knowledge that they are happy and secure and you know that your child's well-being is paramount. I provide a family environment where each child's individual needs are met and provide the nurturing atmosphere that every child deserves. I follow the EYFS exactly the same as a nursery or preschool and tailor it to the individual needs of each child, following their interests and their current developmental steps.

I keep in touch during the day with a whatsapp diary where you will get updates on what fun your child is having and what they have eaten whilst here in the setting.

Working in partnership and building good relationships with my families is very important to me and I encourage good communication so we can ensure the best possible experience for your child and for yourselves

I provide lots of outdoor play and visits to the local area. I have a large secure garden. I provide home cooked food, mainly organic and encourage a healthy diet within my setting.

I collect from St. Wilfrid's CE Primary School and Grappenhall Pre-School.
