About Me
FULL TIME AVAILABLE for Early Years only.
Hi I'm Kiko, Ofsted registered GOOD Childminder in Central Bletchley MK2. I’m qualified Level 3 in Children and young people’s workforce.
I am calm, flexible, honest and active person.
I live with my family. All adults are DBS checked. We bought this house for our children to have a safe child friendly large garden where they can run about, play messy paints, sand and water or noisy music, now it's for your children. Also build a cabin in the garden only for childminding.
I always wanted to work for children since became mum. so I study Home-based childcare level 3 at MK college 2013 and started childminding Sep 2014. I became passionate in children's development, start study Diploma Children & Young People's Workforce Level 3 and completed in 2016. I am a Japanese living in England since 1997, I am introducing my culture in our activities such as Nursery rhymes in Japanese, Origami (paper folding), Calligraphy, language and choice of eating with chopsticks. I have passion for people and especially for children and mums. I feel recharged when I see children's happy face. I believe that children wake up to achieve something new everyday and so I am. I am the person wake up for happiness and work hard to create happy day. I am aiming to offer home from home loving childcare.
My Experience
I am mum to my three sons, They are all different. I have been a childminder since 2014. I have worked at after-school club, holiday camp and nursery children age between 1 to 13, just before starting my childminding. I gained so much experience, especially to involve with children, promote equal opportunity that enable all children to enjoy all activities which create peace. I have had wall climbing training.
I work hard to absolutely promote equal opportunity to all children. I find children are working very hard too, to be happy while parents are working, it may unnoticed in bigger setting or with multi carers. I always praise and share such individual's effort on the spot.
I DO;
* some nursery rhymes in Japanese and some little ones sings with me perfectly in Japanese.
I use rhymes for actions, for example 'Duke of York' for going to the toilet, 'Match of the day' for tidy up, 'I like moving moving' for get ready to go etc. I sing song while changing nappy so child can relaxed. I share with parents child's pictures which shows that they are enjoying and safe with me. I often change toys indoor and outdoor, it's all depend on child's interest.
My family/home is child centered where enable children to learn through daily experience and play. As I'm childminder, I look after small number of children at same time, I can take time to observe child first, plan next step with child's preferred play.
I encourage young children to freely share their difference each other by bring in pictures from home, family recipes, etc.
*take payment in a month advance in monthly or weekly per contract
*speak for children
*use online system
For baby and young children;
I emphasis baby’s emotional and physical development and their daily routine at this stage more than anything else. So, I make sure that I’m a good condition to care each day. I have baby's toys, sensory basket, Babies explore different materials, such as ice, paint, sponges and pine cones and using their senses. There are high chairs as well as place to sleep. My youngest son was born and growing in this address, I have covered all the corners where baby could hurt include door covers.
I DO;
*know a child as much as second best to parents from day 1

Our child attended Kiko's setting for 18 months before transitioning to pre school. He loved going every day and was always full of stories about the things he'd done! Kiko worked hard to support his development and interactions with other children. I especially liked the cultural aspects he was able to do with her, learning about Japanese culture in particular. My son particularly enjoyed making use of the garden and outdoor spaces in the setting, which allowed him to burn off steam!

Thank you for your wonderful review. I had unforgettable joyful 18months with your child! Wishing you all the best x
Many thanks
This lady was nice when I met her but is clearly unreliable. However people need to know that she will build your hopes up and let you down at the last minute.
From the first day I met her I explained that I was going to university and she would get paid by the childcare grant and it’s weekly payment. This lady was happy with this at the beginning, then a few days before my son was due to start. She send me a text saying she cannot provide childcare now. This then leaves me in a situation where I only have a few days to look for childcare not knowing if I can go to university and work. If KIKO had told me from the beginning she don’t like to be paid weekly and had an issue it’s childcare grant I would understand. Putting people in this position last minute is totally unfair! I’m happy to find out now rather that LATER!!
Don’t agree to things you are clearly not happy with FROM the BEGINNING instead of wasting people TIME that’s my advice to you!!

My daughter Élodie has been looked after by Makiko for over two years and we all absolutely love her to bits! She cares for the children as if they were her own and we love getting regular updates about Élodie's day (including photos and short video clips). We cannot be happier with how well Élodie has progressed in Makiko's care and the beautiful arts and craft work she brings home always put a smile on our faces.
Makiko is extremely professional and thorough, particularly when it comes to safeguarding. During the pandemic, she has taken every precaution to ensure that the children's safety is paramount, by closely following the Public Health's advice. She has even created a new safe space for the children to learn and play in, as well as an outdoor hand washing station which is a great idea!
We cannot recommend Makiko highly enough and we thank our lucky stars that we found such a wonderful setting for our daughter.

Hi Emma
Thank you for wonderful review! It’s been over 2 years already, so fast and so many lovely developments shared with you!
I can’t thanks enough to your support each day!
Best regards
Kiko
I really want to give Makiko 5 stars as I thought she was kind and I really liked her, but after my recent experience, I simply cannot.
After 2 years of being out of work, I was offered a job that was running a campaign and required a childminder 3 days a week full time hours.
After some extensive research I came across origami Childminding. I was so nervous to leave my son with a stranger as he's only ever been with family for short periods of time, but never a full day. After seeing how qualified Makiko was and upon having our first meeting I felt very reassured and knew my son would do great with her. He seemed to take very well to Makiko and loved the setting. She reassured me that he would do fine.
2 days was all I got!!
After arranging all of my son's requirements and having signed the paper work and making the first payment. My son was due to start his first day on the thursday. Makiko sends updates on your child's progress throughout the day which is lovely and comforting to see at work. Especially when it was my sons first childminder. Day 1 went so well surprisingly and my son seems happy. Later that evening I got a call to say that another child that my son is exposed to was ill and whether or not I wanted him to attend on the Friday. I was happy to proceed as I didn't have much of a choice as there was no one to cover my shift at work. And I knew kids get ill at days ares, it's just inevitable. Makiko had told me she would be doing a deep cleanse so nothing else would be infected.
Low and behold my son suddenly got sick and Saturday he broke into a fever. This wasnt a big deal though and I wasn't upset, it was just unfortunate. Upon initial request from Makiko who asked me in the furture not to bring in my child if he ever was to get sick. I informed her thatt son would not attend on Monday out of respect for other kids not getting ill too. I wanted to make sure he fully recovered first and makiko would still get paid for the days he didn't attend. I also had ample time to inform work and get my shift covered.
I followed all protocol by Makiko and even had my son tested for covid twice (which all came back negative). However on the Monday she messaged me in the morning and told me she was now terminating the contract with her with no explanation whatsoever. This in turn caused me to lose my job on the campaign as there was no one else who could take my son as all other childminders were fully booked. And I was seen as unreliable for furture work.
Devastated and confused i confronted Makiko politely as to why she terminated the contract and also blocked my original account on childcare.co.uk, to which I got no reply. She dropped off the remaining items that was left in her setting (with missing items) and refunded the rest of the month. But I felt like I was being treated like some criminal. I honestly believed everything was go well until this event
I would not recommend this childcare as it is extremely unreliable with devastating results.

Dear Crystal
I appreciate the beginning of your review and I agree when you say your son was doing well in my setting, this is all true, he was settling very well and I’m sure he would enjoy here very much, however well-being and safety are utmost important for my setting especially in this current situation and unfortunately you failed to provide me a negative PCR test result as I requested and you also disagreed with Covid-19 government guidelines in which would compromise the well-being and safety of my setting and myself , is also fair to say as you have mentioned to me that your son was attending indoor play centre prior his first day in my setting where potentially he could have been exposed already.
I do wish all the best to your son.
Regards
We are so thrilled that we chose Kiko as our childminder for our son. We had chosen to send him to a childminder over nursery as we felt that he would benefit from having a more personal relationship with his carer.
Having sent him to nursery before he was always very apprehensive about going in and despite feeling like this at the beginning he now happily goes into Kiko's house as if it's his favourite place in the world. He has only been going for around a month, so we are very happy with how well he has settled in.
It's really lovely getting updates throughout the day on what he has been up to, and we've found his speech has really developed in the last few weeks being around the children.
I can't recommend Kiko enough. If you get the chance to send your little ones to her setting then you definitely should.
